Show 'n Go Results
The Show 'n Go weekender
presented by the Southern California
Chapter of POCI and Pontiac Drag Days was a smashing success! Nearly 100 cars
were on display on Saturday, February 16th at Jim Wangers Garage in Oceanside
with an estimated 400 visitors. Over 200 lunches were served and a great time
was had by all. A film crew was on hand and posted their "shot" on YouTube.

Then on Sunday , February 17th
Pontiac Drag Days made its first journey to the Barona 1/8th Mile Dragstrip. Our
track experience was great, the track surface was great and the track personnel
treating us like old friends. Click the Show 'n Go

Pontiac Heaven
Next up is the
annual PDD migration to Phoenix—no, not for the weather, but some great Pontiac
racing. Pontiac Heaven will take place at Speedworld on Saturday, April 5th
with its sister event Musclecar Heaven taking place on Sunday the 6th.
This is always a fun weekend at a great facility—laying down some personal bests
and breaking bread with Pontiyakers for all points east, north and south.
Saturday is for “traditional” Pontiac powered only and concludes
with a hosted BBQ by event promoter Steve Barcak.
Stay for Sunday
and beat up on some local Mopars, Buicks, Chevys and Fords.

PDD Says Goodbye to LACR
Since
1994 Pontiac Drag Days has operated a race program at Los Angeles County
Raceway. Sadly, on July 22, 2007 Pontiac Drag Days' string of race seasons at
LACR came to an end. Sad as it is — Pontiac Drag Days stayed the course and went
our celebrating the many years, the great Pontiac racing and most importantly
the great many friendships built over the years.
At the end of the race day, we
Pontiyakers staged our cars one last time at LACR. An eclectic gathering of
Pontiacs from GTOs to Trans Ams to GTPs and everything in between assembled for
this historic photo. And yes, Bill Baker did a "burn out" after the photo.
Here it is — Pontiac Drag Days' final picture at Los Angeles County Raceway. If
you would like to purchase a glossy 11" x 17" copy click go the
Merchandise page.
On July 29, 2007 LACR closed the
gates for the last time. Now there are hundreds and hundreds of drag racers with
no place to race!
My Space
Pontiac Drag Days now has a My Space
site (www.myspace.com/pontiacdragdays)
providing us with another place to communicate and grow our program. If you have
a My Space account click over and add PDD to your Friends. I will be posting
pictures of our racers and events on the site.
